JASON & MATZAH
As a COVID-cooped-up senior at the University of Delaware I took in a stray kitten who I named Matzah Ball—a goofy, loving, mischievous, and fiercely independent calico. A month after, I started dating Jason, a Saxophone Performance major. The three of us moved to Philly for my medical school and Jason’s Master’s degree in Jazz Studies. Five years later these two still make up my daily self-care routine, ensuring I remember what life outside of medicine/academia is!
All that Jazz…
Before dating, I knew nothing about jazz. Now after attending every gig, showcase, performance, jam session I can…I still know nothing about jazz. What I do know is while I don’t like all jazz, I do like his jazz!
